Hunan Xiangxi Delegation Visits BJFEZ to Promote Investment Competitiveness and Expand Greater China Network A delegation from the Political Consultative Conference of Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture, Hunan Province, China, visited BJFEZ. Provided by Busanjin Port and Coast Guard Administration.

Hunan Province, a key hub for inland development in central China, ranks ninth in GDP among Chinese provinces and is recognized as a major economic powerhouse. The region is known for its advanced equipment manufacturing, automotive, and new materials industries.

The visiting delegation, led by Chairman Li Ping and consisting of six members, explored opportunities for exchange and cooperation to promote the integrated development of culture, tourism, and industry.

The delegation toured the BJFEZ promotional center, benchmarking industrial complex operation cases, and highly praised BJFEZ's investment attraction strategies and its competitiveness as a global logistics platform.

In particular, they focused on the synergy between BJFEZ's Tri-Port strategy and Hunan Province's geographical advantage as a key economic cooperation hub with extensive connectivity, establishing a shared understanding between the two sides.

This visit also served as an opportunity to re-examine the similarities and potential complementarities between the 'Hunan Free Trade Zone (FTZ),' an open economic strategy region, and the 'Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone (BJFEZ).'

The Hunan Free Trade Zone serves as a gateway for external openness in inland China and aims to build advanced manufacturing clusters. BJFEZ, as a logistics hub in Northeast Asia, is also growing into a complex economic zone where manufacturing, logistics, and service industries are concentrated, based on its Tri-Port infrastructure connecting ports, airports, and railways. This highlights the significant potential for cooperation between the two regions.

Based on this infrastructure, numerous Chinese-invested companies have stably established themselves within the BJFEZ, and the authority's systematic corporate support system is highly regarded by foreign investors.

Commissioner Park Sungho stated, "The visit by the Hunan Province delegation is a meaningful achievement, demonstrating that networking with Hunan Province continues to be actively strengthened following BJFEZ's invitation as Korea's representative to the 'Global High-End Manufacturing Summit (GHMS) 2025' held in Changsha, China this past May. Building on this visit, we will further solidify the foundation for exchanges with key regions in central inland China and expand cooperation in advanced industries and logistics."
