Yeosu City to Host "Candlelight Concert" at Jangdo Outdoor Stage on August 16

Yeosu City, South Jeolla Province (Mayor Jung Kimyung) announced on August 14 that it will host the "Rhythm of the Night, Yeosu" Candlelight Concert at 7 p.m. on August 16 at the outdoor stage on Jangdo, the Island of Art.

The concert will feature Flamenco Lab performing traditional Spanish music and dance, followed by world-renowned popera tenor Lim Hyungjoo, who will bring the event to a grand finale. The performance is scheduled to last approximately 75 minutes.

Admission is available for up to 900 people on a first-come, first-served basis. Entry wristbands for audience members will be distributed at the entrance to Jinsom Bridge on Jangdo starting one hour before the concert. There are no designated seats; instead, the event will be held picnic-style, allowing attendees to bring mats and sit freely on the grass.

The city plans to expand the Candlelight Concert this year, following last year’s event, in order to continuously provide nighttime tourism content that both residents and visitors can enjoy together.

Kim Sangwook, Director of Tourism, stated, "We hope that this concert on the Island of Art, Jangdo, will offer rich cultural content to visitors and residents during the Liberation Day holiday and serve as an opportunity to widely promote the charm of Yeosu as a marine tourism city."

Meanwhile, this Candlelight Concert is being held as a linked program of the "2025 Korea Night Night Festa." On the same day, the city will also operate a variety of nighttime tourism programs, including "Dongbaek Movie Night," through the "2025 Korea Night Night Festa" taking place in the Woongcheon Waterside Park area.
