Moon Geumju Secures 5 Billion KRW in Special Grants for 11 Projects from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety in the First Half of the Year

Moon Geumju Secures 5 Billion KRW in Special Grants for 11 Projects from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety in the First Half of the Year Geumju Moon, member of the Democratic Party of Korea.

Geumju Moon, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea representing Goheung, Boseong, Jangheung, and Gangjin in South Jeolla Province, announced on August 14 that a total of 5 billion KRW in special grants from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety had been secured for 11 projects in Goheung, Boseong, Jangheung, and Gangjin counties during the first half of this year.


Representative Moon closely coordinated with each local government, carefully compiling eligible projects for the special grants in the first half of the year, and actively leveraged a broad central government network to secure funding. As a result, special grants totaling 5 billion KRW were allocated to the four counties. By region, Goheung received 1.2 billion KRW, Boseong 1.2 billion KRW, Jangheung 1.2 billion KRW, and Gangjin 1.4 billion KRW.


Specifically, Goheung County will receive 700 million KRW for the establishment of a base space for the Marianne-Margaret Global Leader Training Program and 500 million KRW for the maintenance of the Donggang Hancheon Reservoir. Boseong County will receive 200 million KRW for the construction of a multipurpose community center, 500 million KRW for strengthening the pumping station function in the Hoecheon water supply district’s local waterworks, and 500 million KRW for the renovation of the aging Jukcheonje Reservoir.


Jangheung County will receive 600 million KRW for improving the leachate treatment facility at the sanitary landfill, 300 million KRW for renovating the Yakcho-wa-Saramdeul building, and 300 million KRW for maintenance of the Gwansan Mannyeonmeoncheon stream. Gangjin County will receive 500 million KRW for the maintenance of the Seongjeon Wolsong District village sewage system, 500 million KRW for the installation of LED electronic display boards for county administration and tourism information, and 400 million KRW for repairs and reinforcement of the Sangrimje Reservoir in Byeongyeong-myeon.


Moon emphasized, "I did my utmost to secure special grants for balanced regional development and to improve the quality of life for county residents," adding, "I will continue to do my best to identify and resolve local issues through ongoing communication with the residents."
