The city of Ansan in Gyeonggi Province will host a "Beer Festival" for two days, from August 22 to 23, at Sosoplanet Danong, located at 1 Yesulgwangjang-ro, Sangnok-gu.
Sosoplanet is a youth mall in Ansan, meaning "a complex cultural space filled with simple everyday life." To provide opportunities for young entrepreneurs and revitalize the local commercial district, the city has purchased around 40 vacant units in Danong Mart and the Shinan Coa Traditional Market, offering them to young merchants through public leases.
This Beer Festival is a customer appreciation event organized by the young merchants of Sosoplanet Danong to promote mutual cooperation with local residents.
The festival will take place inside the youth mall from 5 p.m. until midnight. Every attendee will receive one free 500cc draft beer. Draft beer will also be sold for 1,900 won, and a variety of meal and snack options will be available. There will also be various events for visitors, including a lucky draw with prizes, discount coupons, and a rock-paper-scissors game.
Park Jinwoo, Ansan City's Director of Youth Policy, said, "I hope this festival will offer citizens a brief moment of relaxation amid the summer heat," adding, "We will continue to create opportunities for communication between citizens and young merchants, bringing new energy to the local commercial district."
