"Multicultural Children Share Smiles with Friends"…Umi Hope Foundation Holds 'Udada Camp'

One-on-One Learning and Care for Children
Part of a Parent Education Initiative

Umi Hope Foundation announced on August 14 that it recently held the '2025 Udada Camp 4th Session' for children from multicultural families at Hero Play Park in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju.

'Umi DaDream DaIrum (Udada)' is the foundation's flagship program, providing 60 annual one-on-one basic learning and care service sessions for children from multicultural families.

Since 2021, the program has been operated in partnership with Connecting the Dots (Jjaekkak Alligator) and ChildFund Korea. Starting last year, the foundation also launched the 'Udada Parent Class' for parents, offering practical educational programs such as child development, discipline, and learning coaching.

This year's camp brought together a total of 45 participants, including 27 children from the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions. Participants enjoyed a variety of activities, such as free play zones featuring carts, ball pools, and trampolines, indoor recreation and cooperative games, and treasure hunts, allowing them to interact with peers and develop cultural sensitivity.

Beginning this year, the foundation has been operating regional camps to reduce the travel burden on families and expand participation opportunities. The Gyeonggi regional camp is scheduled to be held at Jjaekkak Island in Hanam on September 20.

Lee Chunseok, Secretary General of Umi Hope Foundation, stated, "It was a valuable time for children to build social skills and foster bonds among multicultural families by spending time with their peers. We will continue to provide practical support and warm encouragement to help children from multicultural families grow up healthy."
