The Busan Regional Veterans Office (headed by Nam-Il Lee) and KT (CEO Kim Youngsub) provided a special day for elderly national merit recipients.
On August 13, the two organizations hosted "KT Heroes Day" at the Sapphire Room on the 41st floor of the Lotte Hotel in Busan, inviting around 40 Vietnam War veterans and their spouses.
This event is part of a nationwide initiative being held in five cities this year, following a business agreement signed last year between the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs and KT, with the aim of honoring national merit recipients and promoting a culture of remembrance.
During the event, a certificate ceremony was held for the completion of a three-week intensive IT training course on "Kiosk Usage and AI Video Editing," which KT IT Supporters and veterans attended last month at the Busan Veterans Office. The program also included a Hibiscus Badge Ceremony, a Samgyetang lunch, senior recreation activities, concept photo shoots, hearing loss screening and prevention education, and a screen park golf experience.
Jaeuk Jung, Head of KT's Busan-Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters, stated, "The sacrifices and dedication of national merit recipients are values that must never be forgotten," adding, "We will continue to work with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs to enhance digital capabilities and spread a culture of remembrance."
Nam-Il Lee, Head of the Busan Regional Veterans Office, said, "I am grateful to KT for organizing this meaningful event, and we will expand various programs for veterans' families through public-private partnerships such as the 'Everyone's Veterans Dream' initiative."
