This contest is designed to generate practical policy alternatives by encouraging participation from a variety of stakeholders, including citizens and public officials, with the goals of overcoming low birth rates, attracting young people, and improving residential conditions.

The submission period will run for 38 days, from August 13 to September 19. Any citizen interested in Sangju City administration, as well as Sangju City Hall employees, may submit up to two proposals per person.

The contest categories include: response to low birth rates; youth and job creation; expansion of population inflow; improvement of housing and environment; and response to an aging society. All population policy ideas reflecting the unique characteristics of Sangju City are welcome.

Participants can download the application and proposal forms from the notices section of the Sangju City Hall website and submit them via email or postal mail.

Submitted proposals will be reviewed by the relevant departments and evaluated by a judging panel based on creativity, effectiveness, sustainability, feasibility, and specificity. The results will be announced in November, and a total of 5.7 million won in prize money will be awarded to 22 winners.

Kang Youngseok, Mayor of Sangju City, stated, "This contest is a valuable opportunity to go beyond the traditional top-down approach to policymaking and to design Sangju's future together with our citizens. We look forward to many creative proposals from the community, so that innovative ideas from the field can be reflected in our population policies."
