The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced on the 13th that more than 180 companies and organizations providing products and services to solve social problems will participate in the 2nd Korea Social Value Festa, which will be held at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on August 25-26.

The event has been expanded from one day to two days, featuring over 230 exhibition booths and more than 50 sales booths. The exhibition booths are divided into eight categories. In the "Support Zone for the Self-Reliance of Vulnerable Groups," the "Todo Drive" electric wheelchair kit for people with limited mobility will be showcased. By attaching the 5kg Todo Drive to a regular wheelchair, it can be easily converted into an electric wheelchair capable of speeds up to 6 km/h.

In the "Health and Mental Care Enhancement Zone," the nonprofit organization Ongiga will introduce "Onggi Mailbox," a handwritten letter-based psychological safety net service designed to address feelings of depression in daily life. According to research by Hanyang University Impact Research Lab, the social value created by Onggi Mailbox-including alleviating depression and enabling early detection and intervention for high-risk cases-has been measured at over 3.8 billion won.

Team and Team, participating in the "Climate Crisis Response Zone," will present its drinking water support and public health projects for water-scarce countries in East Africa. In partnership with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Team and Team is building water supply infrastructure in Turkana West, Kenya, with plans to provide clean drinking water to approximately 40,000 people by next year.

SOVAC, Korea's largest private social value platform and a co-organizer of this year's festa, will run programs involving university students to develop AI-powered solutions for social problems and explore ways to promote cooperation between the Korean and Japanese investment ecosystems.

KOICA, also a co-organizer, will link the ideas of social venture innovators and aspiring entrepreneurs to official development assistance (ODA), supporting the resolution of social issues in developing countries as well as the overseas expansion of Korean social enterprises.

Cho Youngjun, Head of the Center for Sustainable Management at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated, "Social value is amplified when we work together. By bringing together the efforts of businesses, government, and civic organizations to solve social problems, we aim to make the Social Value Festa a platform that delivers not just double, but multiple positive outcomes."
