700 Drones Depict the Longing for Independence
and Honor the Patriots Who Sacrificed for the Nation
On August 13, the Goheung County Office in Jeollanam-do (Governor: Gong Youngmin) announced that it will host a grand "Drone Show and Maritime Fireworks Show" at Nokdong Port Marine Garden at 9 p.m. on August 16 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Liberation.
This event has been organized to reflect on the historical significance of Liberation, which restored freedom and prosperity, and to create a festive space that both residents and tourists can enjoy together.
Using 700 drones, the show will depict images symbolizing the longing for independence and honoring the patriots who sacrificed their lives for the country, illuminating the sky above Nokdong Port. The maritime fireworks show will add to the spectacle, making Goheung's night sky even more vibrant.
Additionally, every Saturday at 8 p.m. (and on the last Friday of each month at Goheung County Citizens' Plaza), busking performances featuring local artists and invited guest teams are held throughout the Nokdong Port area, offering a variety of musical genres and unique nighttime attractions that contribute to regional revitalization.
A county official stated, "In this meaningful year marking the 80th anniversary of Liberation, we hope to create unforgettable memories for residents and tourists," adding, "We hope this will be a time for all visitors to reflect on their love for the country."
