Samil Pharmaceutical CEO Heo Seungbeom Attends Korea-Vietnam State Banquet: "Committed to Mutual Growth of Both Countries"

On August 13, Samil Pharmaceutical CEO Heo Seungbeom announced that he had been invited to a state banquet held on August 11 to commemorate the official visit to Korea by To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, where he had the opportunity to interact with key Vietnamese figures.

The banquet was attended by 66 prominent individuals, including senior aides from the Presidential Office, government officials, and major figures from Korea's business, finance, academic, sports, and cultural sectors. In addition, 55 key Vietnamese figures, including General Secretary To Lam, were present. The event brought together leading representatives from both countries to strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between Korea and Vietnam.

Samil Pharmaceutical established its representative office in Vietnam in 2008 to conduct ongoing research and gather information on the pharmaceutical market, and in 2018, the company founded its local subsidiary in Vietnam. Subsequently, Samil Pharmaceutical invested $120 million to complete a global-standard ophthalmic solution plant for CMO/CDMO operations in November 2022. To commercialize the Vietnam plant, Samil Pharmaceutical obtained WHO GMP certification in September last year, and in October of the same year, signed a global CMO contract for ophthalmic solutions approved by the Taiwan FDA with Formosa.

A Samil Pharmaceutical representative stated, "The Vietnam plant is scheduled to begin full-scale operations next year. With the visit to Korea by General Secretary To Lam, we expect cooperation between the two countries to be further strengthened, which will give additional momentum to our business in Vietnam." The representative added, "We will continue our efforts for the mutual growth of Korea and Vietnam and to enhance national prestige."
