Geumsan World Ginseng Festival Recruiting Participants for 'Global K-POP & Dance Competition'

Geumsan County is recruiting participants for the Global K-POP & Dance Competition, which will be held at the 43rd Geumsan World Ginseng Festival on September 20, 2025.

The competition will be divided into two categories: vocal and dance. Five teams will be selected for each category, and applications will be accepted until 6:00 p.m. on August 28, 2025.

The vocal category is open to individuals or teams. However, those who have released albums registered with the Korea Music Copyright Association or who are active professional singers are not eligible to participate.

For the dance category, only teams with four or more members may participate. There is no entry fee, and foreigners as well as multicultural families are welcome to join. Minors must submit a certificate of family relationship.

Applications must be submitted via email. Applicants should download the application form from the official websites of the Geumsan Festival Tourism Foundation, Geumsan County Office, or CMB, and submit it along with a preliminary round video.

The preliminary video must be submitted in mp4, wmv, or avi format. Additional editing, such as inserting images or text or cross-editing, is strictly prohibited.

For the vocal category, the video must include at least one verse of a K-POP song. For the dance category, teams must submit a K-POP cover dance video, filmed from the front so that all members' faces and forms are clearly visible.

The finalists will be announced on September 4, 2025, and the final round will take place on September 20, 2025, at the 43rd Geumsan World Ginseng Festival. On the day of the final competition, the performance order will be determined by a random draw on site. Judging will be conducted by three external expert judges through on-site evaluation.

The prizes for each category are as follows: 1st place in the vocal category will receive KRW 1,000,000, and 2nd place will receive KRW 700,000. In the dance category, 1st place will receive KRW 1,500,000, and 2nd place will receive KRW 1,200,000. Additionally, one team will receive a popularity award in the integrated category, with a prize of KRW 300,000.

A county official stated, "This competition is being promoted under the motto 'United through K-POP, a global event for everyone to enjoy beyond competition,'" adding, "We plan to create a special stage where participants from around the world who love K-POP and dance can come together to enjoy both the competition and the festival."
