Police are investigating Yang Hyun-suk, chairman of YG Entertainment, and singer G-Dragon (Kwon Ji-yong), on suspicion of violating copyright law.
According to police on August 12, composer A filed a complaint with the Mapo Police Station in Seoul around November last year, alleging that YG Entertainment had illegally copied a song he created and produced and distributed it as an album, thus violating copyright law.
In response, police have questioned some of the individuals involved in the case and reportedly conducted two raids on the YG Entertainment headquarters and related locations.
A police official stated, "It is true that a complaint was filed against Chairman Yang and Mr. Kwon for violating copyright law," adding, "The investigation is currently underway."
