Arim Kim, LPGA Season Opener Winner, to Compete in Sponsor's Domestic Tournament

Competing at the Mediheal-Korea Daily Championship on the KLPGA Tour
Skipping the Portland Classic to Play in Sponsor Mediheal’s Event
Aiming for Fourth KLPGA Victory, Three Years After Last Championship

Arim Kim, who plays overseas, will compete on the domestic stage.

From August 14 for four days, she will participate in the Mediheal·Hankook Ilbo Championship on the KLPGA Tour, held at Montvert Country Club (par 72, 6,610 yards) in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province. Having started receiving sponsorship from Mediheal this year, Kim has chosen to compete in her sponsor's tournament, opting to skip the LPGA Tour's Standard Portland Classic (total prize money $2 million), which takes place during the same period.

So far this year, no overseas-based player competing on the LPGA Tour has won a KLPGA Tour event. Players such as Hyojoo Kim, Hyejin Choi, Yoonina, and Park Sunghyun have each made attempts, but domestic players have defended their home turf. Arim Kim will be the first among the overseas players to challenge for the trophy. She is aiming for her fourth KLPGA Tour victory, three years after her last win at the major KLPGA Championship held at Ildong Lake Golf Club in Pocheon in May 2022.

In February, she won the LPGA Tour season opener, the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, pushing Nelly Korda (USA) into second place. She also contended for the title at the major AIG Women's Open, which concluded on August 1, ultimately finishing tied for fourth. This year on the LPGA Tour, she ranks 11th in the CME rankings, 20th on the money list, 13th in average driving distance, 24th in greens in regulation, and 20th in scoring average.

Arim Kim said, "Long-distance flights have been physically demanding, but I am doing my best to recover and manage my condition, and my shot feel has remained good. No matter which tournament I enter, my goal is always the same. I will do my best within my abilities."
