Battery Explosion Causes Fire at Seoul National University Engineering Building... No Casualties Reported

A fire broke out due to a battery explosion at Laboratory 1 of the College of Engineering at Seoul National University at approximately 10:43 a.m. on August 12, 2025.

The fire authorities deployed 23 vehicles and 82 personnel, and are currently extinguishing the fire by measures such as submerging the battery in a tank.

There were around 40 people in the laboratory at the time, but no casualties have been reported so far.
