A vibrant garden by day, a dazzling nightscape by night.

The Nongsocheon Trail improvement project, led by Mayor Lee Eungwoo of Gyeryong, South Chungcheong Province, has been reborn as a year-round healing destination, attracting both residents and tourists.

This initiative, which harmoniously blends nature and culture, is recognized as a signature achievement of the 8th civilian administration, as it has improved the living environment while simultaneously boosting tourism competitiveness.

On August 12, Gyeryong City announced the completion of the Nongsocheon Trail improvement project in the Daesil District.

According to the city, the project was completed in July with a total budget of 600 million won, equally funded by the provincial and city governments at 300 million won each.

The newly renovated trail features a total of nine themed gardens, offering a variety of seasonal landscapes throughout the year.

Convenience facilities such as stone benches, swing chairs, and sculptures have been installed throughout areas where trees and flowering plants are harmoniously arranged, ensuring that everyone can relax comfortably. For safety, the city has also installed information signs and snake deterrent devices.

In particular, the design integrates the existing rock garden with new nighttime landscape lighting, transforming the area into a multi-purpose healing space: a place for walking and relaxation during the day, and a nightscape attraction after dark.

The illuminated Nongsocheon at night is expected to offer special memories for couples and families visiting the site.

Mayor Lee Eungwoo stated, "The Nongsocheon Trail is more than just a resting space; it is a core infrastructure that enhances the quality of life for citizens and raises the value of Gyeryong's tourism brand. We will continue to make every policy effort to create an environment that residents can truly feel and to revitalize the local economy."

Meanwhile, based on this achievement, the city plans to further develop Nongsocheon into a leading regional healing destination, aiming to attract tourists from neighboring municipalities, boost local businesses, and increase residential satisfaction.
