It has been reported that the engagement ring gifted by footballer Cristiano Ronaldo (40, Al Nassr FC) to his partner Georgina Rodriguez (31) is worth several billion won.

According to US entertainment outlet Page Six on August 12 (local time), Rodriguez announced her engagement to Ronaldo by posting a photo on Instagram wearing a massive diamond ring. Regarding the engagement, Rodriguez said, "Yes I do, in this life and every life," expressing her agreement to marry him.

According to reports, jewelry experts have estimated that the ring could be worth between $2 million and $5 million (approximately 2.8 billion to 6.96 billion won). Ajay Anand, CEO of diamond specialist company Rare Carat, analyzed that the central stone is likely a D color, flawless clarity diamond weighing over 30 carats, and valued it at up to $5 million.

D color represents the highest grade in diamond color, meaning it is the closest to colorless. Flawless clarity indicates that there are no internal or external imperfections or inclusions in the diamond.

Laura Taylor, an engagement ring expert at Laurel Diamonds, explained that the central stone could be between 15 and 20 carats and valued at over $2 million. Taylor added, "The oval cut, with its unique multi-faceted design, maximizes the brilliance, making the diamond appear bright and lively from every angle." She also noted that the large side diamonds set on either side further highlight the central stone, and that the gemstones are most likely set in platinum for added security.

Taylor described it as "one of the most impressive rings I have seen in recent years, perfectly suited for a world-famous football star couple."

Ronaldo and Rodriguez have been in a relationship for eight years and have two daughters together. In June 2010, while dating Russian model Irina Shayk, Ronaldo had his first son with another woman, and in June 2017, he welcomed twins via surrogate.

Following the news of their engagement, congratulatory messages have been pouring in. Lauren Sanchez Bezos, broadcaster and spouse of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, left a comment saying, "Congratulations."
