Forum Held at Korea-US Science and Technology Conference
The Hyundai Motor Chung Mongkoo Foundation organized a forum for Korean and American science and technology professionals in the United States, creating a platform for the two countries to share their science and technology strategies.
On the 12th, the Hyundai Motor Chung Mongkoo Foundation announced that it had hosted a forum for science and technology experts from both countries at the 38th Korea-US Science and Technology Academic Conference (UKC 2025), which was held in Atlanta, USA, on the 7th (local time).
The theme of the event was "Solving Social Problems Through Science and Technology Innovation." The forum provided an opportunity to introduce how companies and non-profit organizations in Korea and the United States are working to address social issues based on science and technology.
UKC 2025, held from the 5th to the 9th of this month, was organized by the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies, the Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association, and the Korea-US Science Cooperation Center. Since its first annual academic conference in 1974, it has grown into a venue where about 2,000 scholars, next-generation researchers, entrepreneurs, and policymakers from both Korea and the United States participate each year to foster technological innovation and build global partnerships.
This year's forum featured four participants: Jung Jin-taek, Chairperson of the Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (DGIST); Choi Jaeho, Secretary General of the Hyundai Motor Chung Mongkoo Foundation; Carrie Davis, Head of Third Derivative; and Steven Jang, Head of the Hyundai Motor Group Atlanta Office. Each session introduced the Hyundai Motor Chung Mongkoo Foundation's strategies for nurturing science and technology talent and its Green Society initiatives, while the American speaker presented strategies for supporting and fostering global climate technology startups.
A foundation representative stated, "The Hyundai Motor Chung Mongkoo Foundation will continue to do its utmost to nurture science and technology talent and build a global network to help solve global social problems."
