The drone shared school, which opened on June 14 with the elementary basic course, achieved the milestone of 43 students completing the program, including the advanced courses for middle and high school students held during the summer vacation period.
In particular, the advanced courses for middle and high school students went beyond simple piloting experiences, offering a professional curriculum designed to help students develop into future drone experts. Students received in-depth training directly linked to real-world industry, including autonomous drone flight coding using Python, aerial photography and video editing, smart agricultural drone software, and construction site 3D modeling software operation.
On August 7, the day before the successful conclusion of the program, Mayor SooHyun Kang of Yangsu visited the Drone Bot Talent Education Center in person, adding significance to the event. Mayor Kang toured the educational site, encouraged the instructors who worked hard despite the heat, and personally greeted each student, offering words of support to those who will be the leaders of the future.
The successful operation of this shared school is being recognized as a model case of cooperation between local government and the education sector, with the synergy created by Yangju City's excellent infrastructure at the Drone Bot Talent Education Center and the administrative support from the Office of Education.
Mayor SooHyun Kang stated, "I am proud of the students who are participating passionately and growing into future talents despite the hot weather," adding, "We will continue to expand high-quality programs going forward."
Meanwhile, Yangju City expects that the talents nurtured through this shared school will become a key driving force for advanced companies that will grow based on the Gyeonggi Yangju Technovalley Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex and the Drone Special Free Zone.
