On August 12, Gwangju and Jeonnam are expected to be cloudy, with heavy rain anticipated especially along the southern coast.
According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration, the region will be affected by a stationary front located near the seas around Jeju Island, as well as a low-pressure system developing along the stationary front. Morning lows will range from 21 to 24 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs will be between 27 and 30 degrees Celsius.
Expected precipitation is 20 to 80 millimeters along the Jeonnam coast, with some areas along the southern coast of Jeonnam likely to see more than 100 millimeters. Gwangju and inland Jeonnam are expected to receive 10 to 60 millimeters of rain. Waves in the West Sea and the southern coastal waters will remain calm at around 1 meter, and ultrafine dust levels will stay at a "good" level.
An official from the Meteorological Administration advised, "Visibility may suddenly decrease, and there may be slippery or flooded roads, so please pay special attention to traffic safety."
