'Night Light Drawing' Event Scheduled for the 29th and 30th
Anseong City in Gyeonggi Province is set to roll out a series of summer events aimed at revitalizing the nighttime economy and fostering a sense of community culture.
According to Anseong City on August 11, as part of its initiative to boost the nighttime economy, the city will host "Moonlight Gaeksa × Simple Anseong" on August 23 at the Anseong Gaeksa area in Bogae-myeon. This event is part of the "How about a night stroll in Anseong today?" project.
Anseong Gaeksa is a government office building from the Goryeo Dynasty and is the oldest surviving guesthouse of its kind. It was designated as a National Treasure in 2021. The event is designed to offer citizens and tourists moments of relaxation and healing in the city, using Anseong Gaeksa?Anseong's representative cultural heritage?and nearby cultural facilities as the backdrop.
The event will feature four programs: ▲Simple Anseong ▲Traveling Anseong Culture Market ▲Moonlight Playground ▲Night Busking. "Simple Anseong" includes family-friendly performances such as "The Little Prince and the Fox," stargazing experiences, and traditional Yutnori games, offering a variety of hands-on activities for families.
"Traveling Anseong Culture Market" is a local market run by the Anseong Cultural Cooperative as part of the Culture City of Korea project. Visitors can view and purchase handcrafted works by local artisans, and there are craft culture experience programs available for families.
At the Anseong Cultural Archive, the "Moonlight Playground" program will offer nighttime traditional games such as making LED spinning tops. On the same day, the Gyeonggi Music Platform's outdoor parking lot will host the "Night Busking" event, featuring performances by five local artist teams.
On August 29 and 30, the Siot Gallery will host "Night Light Drawing: The Night We Draw Together," an art experience event.
This event features interactive programs that provide visual enjoyment through glow-in-the-dark painting and lighting. Inside the gallery, participants can try painting with luminous paints. Participation is available through advance registration via the Naver Form QR code provided on the promotional poster.
On-site, visitors can also enjoy glow-in-the-dark face painting and activities where they can draw characters or patterns on their hands and arms. On the night of August 30, an audience-participation busking performance will also take place.
