Jeonnam Province will conduct inspections of major industrial sites in the eastern region, including Yeosu, Suncheon, Gwangyang, and Goheung, to support the recovery of the local economy and establish a foundation for new industries.

According to Jeonnam Province on August 11, Vice Governor Kang Wonyi of the Economic Department will personally inspect key industrial hubs such as petrochemicals, secondary batteries, and aerospace over three days starting from the 12th, seeking practical support measures to overcome the current industrial crisis.

This initiative is part of Vice Governor Kang's ongoing commitment to community, mutual growth, and field-oriented administration.

On the first day, August 12, he will begin with a visit to the construction site of the Myodo LNG Hub Terminal in Yeosu, followed by inspections of the LG Chem Yeosu Plant, the KCL Explosion-Proof and Fire Safety Center, and the Yeosu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where he will review the region's industrial base and safety infrastructure and listen to the concerns of local businesses.

On August 13, he will attend the launch ceremony of the specialized secondary battery complex consultative body in the Gwangyang Bay Area and visit the POSCO Future M plant. He will discuss strategies for securing additional designations as a national high-tech strategic industry complex in the Gwangyang Bay Area and plans to strengthen the foundation for attracting national strategic projects through public-private cooperation.

On August 14, he will focus on inspecting aerospace hubs such as the Naro Space Center, Goheung Aviation Center, and Goheung Drone Center in Goheung, and will hold in-depth discussions on current issues such as the creation of a space launch vehicle industrial cluster and the construction of a second space center to expand the foundation for the future space industry.

Vice Governor Kang stated, "Through this visit, I will listen carefully to the voices at industrial sites in the region and take a multifaceted approach, including securing national funding, improving systems, and attracting investment." He added, "To realize practical, field-oriented administration, I will continue to communicate at major sites in the eastern region every month and keep listening to the concerns of businesses and residents."

Jeonnam Province plans to use this visit as an opportunity to develop concrete action plans for strengthening support for the recovery of industries in crisis areas, laying the groundwork for attracting specialized secondary battery complexes, expanding the aerospace industry base, and reinforcing field-oriented policies to address local livelihood issues.
