The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced on the 11th that it had conducted volunteer activities on the 8th in the Sangmyeon area of Gapyeong County, Gyeonggi Province, to support the prompt recovery of regions recently affected by heavy rainfall. In addition, KOTRA donated 10 million won, which was voluntarily raised by employees both domestically and abroad, to the Korean Red Cross.

This volunteer activity targeted Gapyeong County, which was declared a special disaster zone due to heavy rainfall in mid-July. KOTRA organized a joint labor-management team of about 30 employees who assisted in recovery efforts, including cleaning flooded homes and farms, collecting debris, and washing equipment. The on-site volunteer work was carried out through the voluntary participation of employees, including members of the in-house volunteer club 'Left Hands.' Despite the intense heat, participants worked diligently to support the recovery efforts on the ground.

Alongside the volunteer work, KOTRA held a fundraising campaign from the 1st to the 8th within the company, raising a total of 10 million won. Employees not only from the domestic headquarters but also from overseas trade offices participated in the fundraising. The donations will be delivered to flood victims through the Korean Red Cross.

Kang Kyungseong, President of KOTRA, stated, "I hope the small contributions of our employees will help local residents who are struggling due to flood damage to recover their daily lives, even if only a little." He added, "KOTRA will continue to show interest in and participate in social contribution activities together with the local community in the future."
