Gyeonggi-do Holds Healing Camp for Young Adults Preparing for Independence in Gapyeong on August 8-9

Gyeonggi-do held the 'Healing Camp in Gapyeong' psychological healing program for 12 young adults preparing for independence at the Popcorn House Pension in Gapyeong-gun on August 8 and 9, 2025.

The Healing Camp in Gapyeong is a customized program designed to allow young adults preparing for independence to experience rest and healing in nature, and to help them establish psychological stability and a social support system through related activities and building relationships with peers.

Participants engaged in psychological recovery activities with mental health professionals, including: diagnosis of obsessive-compulsive tendencies, self-interpretation conversation techniques, one-on-one psychological counseling, and muscle relaxation methods. In the evening, they participated in 'Modak Bulmeong' (campfire meditation) and 'Byeolmeong' (stargazing meditation), and in the morning, they took walks to achieve emotional stability and relieve stress.

One of the young adults who attended the camp said, "For the first time in a while, I was able to laugh comfortably, and it was a great comfort to have someone genuinely listen to my story. In particular, the variety of programs touched my heart and will remain as good memories."

Kwon Moonju, head of the Child Care Division of Gyeonggi-do, stated, "We organized the Healing Camp for the first time this year to help young adults preparing for independence relieve psychological anxiety and loneliness, and to support their healthy independence through experiences of emotional support. We plan to continue providing opportunities for these young adults to find emotional comfort in beautiful surroundings."

Gyeonggi-do is also operating the 'Visiting Mental Health Counseling Service' and the 'Mentor-Mentee Together Project' to help young adults preparing for independence achieve psychological stability and establish a social support system.
