At the time of discovery, the body was buried underground with only the head and part of the torso visible. Due to the advanced state of decomposition, it was reported that estimating the age group was difficult.
Currently, among those who went missing in the heavy rains that struck the Gapyeong area in the early morning of July 20, only one person?a man in his 50s who was swept away with his vehicle in the rapid currents in Deokhyeon-ri, Sang-myeon?remains unaccounted for.
After the body is recovered, the police plan to determine whether fingerprint identification is possible. If fingerprinting is not feasible, they will confirm the identity through DNA testing.
