The People Power Party announced on the 9th that it has decided to initiate disciplinary proceedings against YouTuber Han Gil Jeon following conflicts and disturbances led by Jeon at the party’s joint speech event held in Daegu during the national convention.
The party held an emergency meeting of the emergency response committee in the morning and stated, "The Daegu City Party and Gyeongbuk Provincial Party have requested strict measures from the central party regarding Mr. Jeon's actions that disrupted the joint speech event held yesterday, citing obstruction of the event and party operations," and announced this decision.

The party added, "Accordingly, we convened an emergency meeting of the emergency response committee this morning," and continued, "We have decided to refer the investigation of party member Jeon Yugwan (stage name Han Gil Jeon) from the Seoul City Party Ethics Committee to the Central Ethics Committee and to initiate disciplinary procedures."
They further stated, "Acting Emergency Response Committee Chairperson Song Eon-seok has requested the prompt convening of the Ethics Committee in accordance with Article 11 of the Ethics Committee regulations," and added, "He urged the Ethics Committee to reach a swift conclusion to prevent further confusion at the national convention."
Previously, on July 21, Chairperson Song had instructed the Seoul City Party, to which Jeon belongs, to review and investigate Jeon's words and actions, stating, "There have been various opinions regarding Mr. Jeon's recent party membership issue."
At the joint speech event held in Daegu the previous day, Jeon led party members to chant "traitor" during the speech of a candidate from the pro-impeachment (Yoon Suk Yeol impeachment supporters) faction. As tensions escalated, there were loud arguments and even physical altercations among supporters.
On the afternoon of the previous day, Chairperson Song issued an emergency directive stating, "We will prohibit entry to all future national convention events for individuals without delegate qualifications, including Mr. Jeon, who caused the disturbance."
