Heavy rain is forecast for the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions over the weekend.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, due to the influence of a stationary front and a low-pressure system this weekend, most areas are expected to receive 50 to 100 mm of rain. In some areas, such as the Jeonnam coast, rainfall is expected to exceed 200 mm, and more than 150 mm is forecast for inland Jeonnam as well.

On Saturday, August 9, the morning low is expected to be around 26 degrees Celsius, with daytime highs reaching 28 to 31 degrees. Sunday, August 10, will see similar conditions, with morning temperatures at 26 degrees and daytime highs reaching around 31 degrees.

An official from the Korea Meteorological Administration advised, "As there is a high risk of heat-related illnesses, refrain from outdoor activities and outings, and pay special attention to food hygiene." The official also noted, "With strong winds expected along the Jeonnam coast, with instantaneous wind speeds of around 55 km/h (15 m/s), it is necessary to inspect facilities and take precautionary measures in advance."
