Gyeonggi Province is operating the 'Youth Opportunity Travel Director Development Program.'
On August 8, Gyeonggi Tourism Organization announced that it held the first official event, an orientation and networking session, at the Gyeonggi Human Resources Development Institute in Jangan-gu, Suwon.
This initiative was established to support the sustainable growth of the local tourism industry and to encourage entrepreneurship among young people in the tourism sector.
Gyeonggi Province aims to foster and support young people so they can realize their creative ideas and planning abilities, focusing on discovering local content and developing tourism business models based on the province's tourism resources.
In particular, this year, the program has placed greater emphasis on systematic and practical youth tourism talent development by including digital content development projects utilizing royal tombs, which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, as well as advanced courses linked to entrepreneurship.
For this program, Gyeonggi Tourism Organization selected a total of 50 teams: 40 teams for the general course and 10 teams for the advanced course, targeting young people aged 19 to 39. Over approximately four months, participants will have the opportunity to enhance their planning, commercialization, and business capabilities for tourism content through expert training, special lectures, and mentoring sessions.
A representative from Gyeonggi Tourism Organization stated, "We hope this initiative will provide practical entrepreneurship opportunities for young people in the province and that their fresh business ideas will become a driving force for revitalizing local tourism."
