The city decided to review specific policy directions and effective alternatives at the Department of Transportation level, based on the current status and feedback from each company.
Uijeongbu City plans to conduct a management analysis study on village buses to examine ways to improve operational conditions from multiple perspectives. Based on this, the city intends to strengthen support so that village buses can become a public service that goes beyond being a simple means of transportation and takes responsibility for the daily lives of local residents.
Mayor Donggeun Kim stated, "Along with city buses, village buses are an important means of transportation directly connected to citizens' daily lives, so the city must take responsibility for ensuring their public nature and sustainability. We will guarantee citizens' transportation rights and establish a foundation for mutual growth with the transportation industry through transportation policies that reflect voices from the field."
