Emergency Response and Fire Evacuation Drills on August 9
Ulsan Seoul Fire Station will conduct fire safety training for approximately 20 foreign nationals residing in Korea, who are students of the UNIST social integration program, at 11 a.m. on August 9 in Lecture Room 114 of the UNIST Business Building in Eonyang-eup, Ulju-gun.
This training was organized in response to growing social concerns about the safety blind spots of foreign workers, which were highlighted following the Aricell factory fire in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province last year. The aim is to strengthen safety education for foreign nationals residing in Korea.
The main topics of the training include: ▲ How to call 119 in an emergency ▲ How to use fire extinguishers, which anyone can operate ▲ The importance of CPR and hands-on practice ▲ Promoting evacuation procedures in case of fire ▲ Distribution of standard fire safety education materials and supplies for foreigners.
A representative from Seoul Fire Station stated, "There is a growing awareness that foreign nationals residing in Korea, as important members of our society, should not be left in the blind spots of fire safety services," and added, "We will continue to provide easier fire safety education to ensure that no foreign workers are left vulnerable due to language barriers."
