Governor Kim Donggon Secures 100 Tons of Cheongyang Chili Pepper Supply ... 'Field Administration' Ensuring Farmers' Income

Large-Scale Contract with Kyochon Chicken Subsidiary
Higher Unit Price and Unified Distribution System Reduce Farmers' Burden

Governor Kim Donggon Secures 100 Tons of Cheongyang Chili Pepper Supply ... 'Field Administration' Ensuring Farmers' Income Kim Dongon, Cheongyang County Governor

Kim Donggon, Governor of Cheongyang County, has successfully secured a contract to supply 100 tons of Cheongyang chili peppers to BHN Bio Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Kyochon Chicken, thereby expanding the distribution of local agricultural products and simultaneously increasing farmers' incomes.

According to the county on August 7, this contract was signed in March and a shipment ceremony was held on the same day at the Jeongsan Nonghyup Economic Center.

The event was attended by approximately 40 people, including Governor Kim, Kim Taeyoon, Head of Production at BHN Bio, Lee Dongsu, Branch Manager of the Cheongyang County branch of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, Hwang Inguk, Head of Jeongsan Nonghyup, and contracted farmers.

Governor Kim emphasized, "If agriculture collapses, the region collapses," and has long set the direction of county administration to focus on agriculture.

This large-scale Cheongyang chili pepper supply contract is also a result of that policy. The supply volume has increased significantly from 54 tons as a pilot delivery last year to 100 tons this year.

Notably, the contract price was also raised by 300 won from the previous year to 4,100 won per kilogram, providing tangible benefits to farmers' incomes.

Jeongsan Nonghyup is responsible for collection, sorting, and transportation, and payment is settled within two weeks after delivery. This system follows Governor Kim's principle of "minimizing the burden on farmers." Shipment is possible without additional washing or packaging, further reducing the labor burden for farmers.

Governor Kim stated, "We will continue to pursue diversification of distribution channels and quality enhancement so that Cheongyang chili peppers can reach more dining tables across the country," and added, "We will continue to provide administrative and financial support to stabilize farmers' incomes and revitalize the local economy."

Meanwhile, since the start of the seventh popularly elected administration, Governor Kim has led the establishment of a Cheongyang-style agricultural policy model, implementing a "farmer-centered administration" that has strengthened agricultural competitiveness by attracting new residents to farming and rural areas, promoting smart farm innovation, and expanding loans and technical support for farmers.
