Fadu Wins Best Innovation Technology Award at US 'FMS 2025'... Recognized for FDP Commercialization Innovation

Fadu Wins Third Award at FMS
SSD Software Technology Recognized
"Accelerating Next-Generation Storage and Customer Acquisition"

Fadu, a semiconductor company specializing in data centers, received the Best Innovation Technology Award at 'FMS 2025,' the world's largest memory and storage technology exhibition, currently being held in Silicon Valley, California.

According to Fadu on August 7, the company was recognized for its technological innovation at FMS 2025 by being the first in the industry to commercialize 'FDP (Flexible Data Placement),' a solid-state drive (SSD) software technology.

FDP is regarded as an advanced storage technology that addresses the issue of 'user interference' occurring in multi-user environments and the resulting performance degradation, while also ensuring consistent performance (QoS).

In traditional SSD-based cloud storage environments for data centers, data from multiple users is stored together in a single space, leading to issues such as reduced speed and signal interference. With FDP technology, the internal structure of the SSD can be utilized as if it were physically separated for each user.

By allocating dedicated storage spaces for each user within the SSD, FDP has demonstrated various optimization effects for AI and cloud environments, including: improved speed and response time through enhanced data storage efficiency; extended SSD lifespan by reducing write amplification; consistent performance even in simultaneous multi-user scenarios; and optimized data placement that lowers power consumption.

FDP is a technology that has been standardized under the leadership of Meta and Google and has already been applied to global hyperscale data centers. Industry experts expect this technology to become a core feature in future AI storage environments.

This marks Fadu's third award at FMS, following the 'Best Innovation SSD Controller' in 2018 and the 'Best Innovation Flash Memory Startup' in 2020.

Jay Kramer, Chairman of this year's FMS 2025 Awards program and President of Network Storage Advisors, stated, "The NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory Express) specification for FDP is designed as a standardized method that reduces write amplification through data placement management in SSDs and enables optimized use of storage space in data centers. We are proud to recognize Fadu's flexible data placement technology, which eliminates performance degradation of various AI models in large-scale data centers, significantly reduces data processing time, and optimizes AI training."

Ji Hyo Lee, CEO of Fadu, said, "FDP is not just a technical concept but a commercial technology registered with the global technology standards organization 'Open Compute Project (OCP).' With FDP, which combines the speed, efficiency, and reliability required in the era of AI and cloud, we will lead the next-generation storage market and accelerate the discovery of new customers."
