However, he did not mention the possibility of a trilateral meeting between the United States, Russia, and Ukraine. On the same day, major foreign media outlets such as the New York Times reported that President Trump could meet with President Putin as early as next week, and that he plans to hold a trilateral meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine afterward.
President Trump stated that there are no concrete breakthroughs yet, but said that U.S. officials have been working on this issue for a long time. He also commented on the Russia-Ukraine war, saying, "I am here to end this."
