'Suspect Kim Gunhee' stood before the prosecution's photo line.
Kim Gunhee, the wife of former President Yoon Sukyeol, left her residence at Acro Vista in Seocho-gu, Seoul on the morning of August 6 and arrived at the entrance of the Special Prosecutor's Office in Gwanghwamun, Jongno-gu at 10:11 a.m. She made a prepared statement, saying, "I am deeply sorry for causing concern to the people," and headed to the interrogation room with a stern expression.
When Kim Gunhee got out of the Carnival vehicle, the area near Gwanghwamun quickly descended into chaos. As she walked toward the photo line at the entrance, protected by security personnel and special prosecutors, about 100 citizens chanted slogans such as "Release Yoon Sukyeol" and "Guarantee Kim Gunhee's human rights."
As the number of protesters increased and their chants grew louder, the area around the photo line became a scene of confusion, with reporters, security personnel, and protesters all jumbled together.
During the Q&A session with Kim Gunhee, reporters prepared the following questions: ▲Did you participate in the former president's decision to declare emergency martial law? ▲Were you aware of the martial law decision in advance? Did you try to stop it? ▲Is there any allegation you would like to clarify? ▲Why did you accept luxury necklaces and bags? ▲Do you believe the special prosecutor's investigation is unfair? ▲Do you feel sorry for your family and those around you? However, Kim Gunhee did not answer most of these questions.

In her opening remarks, Kim Gunhee said, "I am truly sorry for causing concern to the people as someone who is nothing. I will undergo the investigation faithfully." When asked by reporters if she had any message for the public, she replied, "I'm sorry."
About 100 reporters were waiting to cover the event that day. From around 7 a.m., the photo line in front of the Gwanghwamun Special Prosecutor's Office was packed with journalists, leaving no room to stand. Some photographers who could not secure a spot even climbed onto the entrance, which is 2 meters high, to wait for her arrival.
The special prosecutor's team was reportedly planning to question Kim Gunhee intensively about the Deutsch Motors stock price manipulation allegations, the allegations of intervention in Myung Taegun's nomination, and the allegations of requests made to Geonjin Beopsa.
The area near Gwanghwamun was crowded with protesters. About 30 members of the Shinja Yuyeon Dae group waved the Korean and American flags and chanted, "President Yoon Sukyeol, release the president," in front of Exit 2 of Gwanghwamun Station. They wore hats with "Yoon Again" written on them and held slogans reading "Make Korea Great Again." A woman in her 60s who participated in the rally said, "The special prosecutor itself is wrong," and added, "I came out to support Kim Gunhee."
Commuters walked in a single line past the protest site, and some covered their ears while waiting for the bus at a nearby stop. Some citizens were startled or took photos of the demonstrators shouting loudly from the subway station. Joo Mo (28), an office worker, said, "I was surprised by the loud shouting from behind on a weekday morning. I couldn't really understand what they were saying, and it was just noisy." Another office worker, Shin Hoonjae (68), said, "It's not the first or second time people are yelling into microphones in front of the building. It's frustrating to listen to things that don't make sense."
