BMW Korea Launches Large Electric SAV 'iX'... 509km Range Per Charge

Launch of the Facelifted All-Electric Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) iX
Starting at 124,800,000 KRW

On August 6, BMW Korea announced the domestic launch of the facelifted version of the large, all-electric Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV), the BMW iX.

The updated BMW iX is a dedicated model under BMW's electrification brand, "BMW i." The model features a refined and sporty exterior design, while power efficiency and driving performance have been significantly improved. As a result, the certified driving range per charge in Korea has increased by 45 km to a total of 509 km (based on the BMW iX xDrive60).

The BMW iX has been reborn with a sophisticated appearance, incorporating new design elements. The BMW kidney grille, now featuring a diagonal pattern, is equipped with the BMW Kidney Iconic Glow function that illuminates along the border. The M Sport design package is now standard on all iX models. The front end features a three-dimensional bumper and large air intakes, while the rear is equipped with a newly designed diffuser and vertical reflectors, creating a striking presence.

The BMW iX benefits from fine-tuned drivetrain adjustments and the adoption of new high-voltage battery cell technology, resulting in substantial improvements in output and driving range per charge.

The base model, the BMW iX xDrive45, delivers a maximum output of 408 horsepower, an increase of 82 horsepower compared to the previous version. Maximum torque has also increased to 71.4 kg·m. The time required to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h (zero to 100) is 5.1 seconds, which is 1 second faster than before. The certified driving range per charge in Korea is 446 km.

The BMW iX xDrive60 offers a maximum output of 544 horsepower, an increase of 21 horsepower over the previous model, and delivers up to 78.0 kg·m of torque. The zero-to-100 acceleration time is 4.6 seconds, and the certified driving range per charge is 509 km.

The high-performance M model, the BMW iX M70 xDrive, produces a maximum output of 659 horsepower (with Sport mode activated), which is 40 horsepower more than before. When using the launch control function, it delivers an impressive 112.2 kg·m of torque. The zero-to-100 acceleration time is 3.8 seconds, and the certified driving range per charge is 421 km.

The BMW iX comes standard with innovative safety features and top-tier driver assistance systems. First, the BMW Tire Repair Kit Plus is included as standard equipment. This integrated tire repair kit automatically injects sealant, and inflates and maintains tire pressure.

Additionally, all models come standard with air suspension, providing excellent ride comfort for occupants. The new BMW iX xDrive60 and new iX M70 xDrive support comfortable and stable driving through Integral Active Steering, a rear-wheel steering function.

Furthermore, the BMW iX is equipped as standard with the "Driving Assistant Professional" driver assistance system, which includes active cruise control with stop-and-go support, front and rear approach and collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, and lane departure prevention and lane keeping assistance functions.

The BMW iX is priced at 124,800,000 KRW for the iX xDrive45, 153,800,000 KRW for the iX xDrive60, and 177,700,000 KRW for the high-performance iX M70 xDrive (including VAT).
