Full-scale Launch of Practical AI Education Content
Day One Company announced on August 6 that it will participate in the "Independent Artificial Intelligence (AI) Foundation Model" development project, overseen by the Ministry of Science and ICT, serving as the education partner for the Upstage consortium.
This project is a core government initiative aimed at securing South Korea's sovereignty in AI technology, with the goal of independently developing a world-class AI foundation model by 2027. To this end, the Ministry of Science and ICT has selected five consortia: Upstage, Naver Cloud, SK Telecom, NC AI, and LG AI Research Institute.
Upstage is the only startup leading a consortium and is spearheading the development of the large language model "Solar WBL." Within the Upstage consortium, Day One Company is exclusively responsible for the "AI literacy education for all citizens" segment.
The education program will target more than 7 million school-age individuals, ranging from elementary to university students, as well as adults and working professionals, thus encompassing all generations. Day One Company plans to make a tangible contribution to the goal of "nurturing digital experts" through a comprehensive curriculum that covers everything from basic AI understanding to ethical use and practical application.
Lee Kangmin, CEO of Day One Company, stated, "Through this project, we aim to establish an educational ecosystem where every citizen can proactively understand and utilize AI," adding, "By fully leveraging Day One Company's accumulated practical training expertise and technological infrastructure, we will make a substantive contribution to securing South Korea's sovereignty in AI technology."
