The donation ceremony was held at the temporary Cheongju City Hall, attended by key officials from both organizations, including Lee Bumseok, Mayor of Cheongju, and Choi Woosung, Director of Cheongju Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospital.
Cheongju experienced a total of 362 cases of damage after up to 363mm of heavy rainfall fell over four days starting July 16, causing river overflows and road flooding. While there were no casualties, significant damage occurred to homes, farmland, and public facilities. Additionally, the hot and humid weather has made recovery efforts more challenging. In response, Jaseng Medical Foundation prepared this donation to help stabilize the lives of affected residents and support their swift return to daily life. The funds will be delivered through the Chungbuk Community Chest of Korea at a later date.
Park Byungmo, Chairman of Jaseng Medical Foundation, said, "I hope this donation provides warm comfort and helps our neighbors suffering from unexpected flood damage recover their daily lives," adding, "Jaseng Medical Foundation and Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospital will continue to share and support the local community in the future."
Meanwhile, Jaseng Medical Foundation also plans to continue providing support not only to Cheongju but also to other regions with Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospital branches that were affected by the recent heavy rains.
