The international relief and development NGO Good People (President Kim Cheonsu) announced on August 5 that it is recruiting participants for the charity marathon "2025 Energy Hero Race" to support energy-vulnerable groups. Hosted by Good People and sponsored by Korea District Heating Corporation, the "2025 Energy Hero Race" will be held on September 13 at Peace Square in World Cup Park, Sangam-dong, Seoul.
Sean, a singer and charity runner, will participate as the event ambassador, while cheerleaders Park Kiryang and Seo Hyunsook will lead warm-up exercises and special performances. Park Kiryang and Seo Hyunsook, as Good People Sharing Ambassadors, are at the forefront of promoting a culture of giving.
Additionally, the event will be joined by sharing companies such as the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Goal Studio, LG Household & Health Care, Vitamin Angels, The BOYU Company, E-Mart No Brand, Xtreme, Jeil Health Science, hy, Runnerble, and the im Social Contribution Foundation.
Good People will recruit a total of 4,000 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. The registration fee is 40,000 KRW for the 5km course and 45,000 KRW for the 10km course, and all proceeds will be used to support energy efficiency improvements for energy-vulnerable groups. For the 10km course, participants will receive a timing chip to track their personal running records.
Participants will receive a Goal Studio T-shirt, a medal, a bib number, and various other goods. On the day of the event, prizes such as iPads and Galaxy Buds will also be given away.
Registration is open until August 20 through the running platform "Runnerble," and may close early if all 4,000 spots are filled.
The "Energy Hero Race" has been held annually since 2023 as a public participation charity marathon. To date, approximately 7,000 people have participated, and the total accumulated donations have reached 280 million KRW. Over the past two years, funds raised through the Energy Hero Race have been used to improve energy efficiency at 378 social welfare facilities and vulnerable households, including group homes.
