Building a 100 Billion KRW AI Data Center in Jakarta, Indonesia
Accommodating Over 100,000 Servers... 30 MW Power Capacity
Mobilizing All LG Group Affiliates' Expertise: Design, Cooling, Battery Solutions and More
LG CNS has become the first Korean company to win a contract to build an overseas artificial intelligence (AI) data center. The company plans to complete a hyperscale AI data center in Jakarta, Indonesia, with a project value of approximately 100 billion KRW by the end of 2026. Upon completion, it is expected to become the largest data center in the country.
LG CNS announced on the 6th that it has signed a contract with Indonesia's KMG (Kuningan Mas Gemilang) for the construction of an AI data center. This contract was made through the joint venture "LG Sinar Mas Technology Solution," established with Sinar Mas Group, Indonesia's third-largest conglomerate.

This project involves constructing a hyperscale AI data center in Jakarta, capable of accommodating more than 100,000 servers simultaneously. The facility will have 11 above-ground floors, a total floor area of 46,281 square meters, and a power capacity of 30 MW. After the first phase, KMG plans to increase the total power capacity to 220 MW, making it the largest data center in Indonesia.
Through this project, LG CNS will oversee infrastructure operations worth approximately 100 billion KRW, including cooling systems, power, and telecommunications. KMG is a joint venture between Sinar Mas Group and Korea Investment Real Asset Management and has been promoting the development of the AI data center. Sinar Mas has designated data centers and cloud computing as future growth engines and selected LG CNS as its partner. Last year, LG CNS signed and executed a consulting and design contract with KMG for the construction of the AI data center.
LG CNS is applying its "One LG" integrated solution to this AI data center project, mobilizing the core competencies of LG Group affiliates. LG CNS's expertise in data center design, construction, and operation (DBO), LG Electronics' data center cooling technology, and LG Energy Solution's battery solutions are all being incorporated. In addition, the project will introduce specialized designs and construction methods for GPU farms to meet the growing demand for AI computing.
A hybrid cooling system will also be implemented in the AI data center due to the significant heat generated by large-scale, high-performance GPUs. Both traditional air-cooling systems, which circulate air to lower internal temperatures, and liquid-cooling systems, which use refrigerants to directly cool the servers, will be adopted.

LG CNS will also build a power system capable of reliably supporting high-density racks of up to 130 kW. This is 24 times the power required for a typical data center rack, ensuring stable power supply even for AI data centers with massive power demands. LG CNS will also establish an uninterrupted operation system that continues to function on backup power, even if the main power supply is interrupted, by implementing infrastructure redundancy.
Additionally, the company will install an eco-friendly air conditioning system that automatically controls temperature and humidity according to the data center environment, thereby increasing energy efficiency. The facility will also feature top-tier seismic design for enhanced safety. The lobby floor will be designed with a pilotis structure to prevent flood damage.
Furthermore, a network-neutral environment will be established, allowing data center tenants to freely choose their communication lines. Tenants can select the lines best suited to their business needs or set up multiple connections. The Menteng district in central Jakarta, where the AI data center will be built, is an optimal location for connecting to the national network and submarine cable systems, giving it the potential to serve as a future network hub.
Shin Hyunkyun, President of LG CNS, stated, "We will leverage LG CNS's data center capabilities to build a state-of-the-art AI data center that will revolutionize customer value," and added, "Building on this project, we will further expand our AI data center business into global markets, including Southeast Asia such as Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia."
