On this day, President Han consecutively visited the Jeonui?Jeondong section of the Gyeongbu Line near Sejong City and the Cheonan-Asan?Osong section of the Gyeongbu High-Speed Line.
The Jeonui?Jeondong section is an area where the tracks were flooded when a nearby river overflowed during the extreme heavy rainfall. The Cheonan-Asan?Osong section is where soil on the embankment near the tracks was washed away.
President Han personally inspected the ongoing restoration work at the site. He also emphasized to those on site the importance of reinforcement work to prevent any additional damage.
KORAIL operates a Summer Disaster Countermeasure Headquarters from May to September. During this period, the headquarters maintains a 24-hour emergency system at the site to enable rapid response to severe weather conditions such as heavy rain and typhoons.
President Han stated, "We will do our utmost to restore the railway facilities damaged by last month's extreme heavy rainfall quickly and safely, so that the public does not experience any inconvenience when using trains."
