On July 27, while on leave, Private Choi was playing early morning soccer at a field near Masan Station in Changwon Special City when a teammate suddenly lost consciousness and collapsed.

Without hesitation, Private Choi ran to the patient's side and immediately performed CPR, while other teammates called 119, prompting emergency responders to arrive quickly. By the time the emergency team arrived at the scene, the patient had regained consciousness and was subsequently transported to the hospital by the paramedics.

The paramedic who responded at the scene stated, "The reason the cardiac arrest patient was able to survive was because CPR was performed quickly and accurately in the early stages," and highly praised Private Choi Hyunbin's calm response.

Private Choi Hyunbin said, "Thanks to the repeated first aid training I received in my unit, I was able to perform CPR without hesitation even in an emergency situation," and added, "As a soldier, I believe it is only natural to protect the lives of the people, and I will continue to faithfully carry out my duties in the future."
