Kiwoom Securities Launches Pre-Tax Annual 9.2% ELS Linked to Major Korea, US, and Japan Indices

Kiwoom Securities announced on August 5 that it is offering a pre-tax annual 9.2% ELS (Equity-Linked Securities) based on major indices from Korea, the United States, and Japan.

The "3517th Kiwoom ELS" is a 3-year ELS product with the KOSPI200 Index, S&P500 Index, and NIKKEI225 Index as underlying assets. If certain conditions are met, it offers a maximum pre-tax annual yield of 9.2%. The knock-in barrier, which determines the principal loss threshold, is set at 45%. If any of the three underlying indices falls by 55% or more from its initial reference price at any time, a principal loss may occur. The maturity is 3 years, and there are early redemption opportunities every 6 months.

As this is a high-risk financial investment product, a two-business-day cooling-off period is required for investor protection. Subscriptions must be made by 5:00 p.m. on this day, and the investment intention must be confirmed by 1:00 p.m. on the 8th of the same month for the subscription to be completed.

A representative from Kiwoom Securities stated, "Index-type ELS products that use only stock indices as underlying assets are popular investment products that are widely sold by other securities firms and banks as well," adding, "The 3517th Kiwoom ELS is launched with a competitive yield considering its underlying assets and structure."

Kiwoom Securities also offers principal-protected ELB products, which are more stable than ELS.

The "916th Kiwoom ELB" is an ELB (Equity-Linked Bond) with a 6-month maturity, offering a pre-tax annual yield of 3.5%. If the price of the underlying asset, Samsung Electronics common stock, doubles or more by maturity, a pre-tax annual yield of 3.51% will be paid, but the probability of this is low.

This is a low-risk product that pays principal and yield at maturity, making it suitable for investors seeking stability. However, if a credit event occurs at Kiwoom Securities, the issuer, before maturity, a principal loss may occur. Subscriptions are available until 1:00 p.m. on the 7th of this month.
