Kakao Pay Securities Teams Up with CU for Stock Gift and VIP Benefits Event

Kakao Pay Securities announced on August 5 that it will hold a special event throughout August in collaboration with BGF Retail, the operator of CU convenience stores.

This partnership aims to lower the barriers to investment and provide opportunities for people to easily and enjoyably experience stock trading in their daily lives. Kakao Pay Securities will offer stock gifts to CU customers and provide CU membership VIP benefits to first-time stock trading users.

Buy products at CU and receive overseas stocks

The "Stock Gift" event, running from August 1 to 31, is open to anyone who purchases eligible products and accumulates CU points at any of the approximately 18,600 CU convenience stores nationwide.

After making a purchase and accumulating points at CU, customers can visit the event page on the Pocket CU app, click "Receive Stock" to get a coupon number, and then register it on the Kakao Pay app's securities tab event page.

The stock gifts are linked to the purchased products to add an element of fun. For example: ▲Purchasing a Coca-Cola beverage earns "Coca-Cola stock" ▲Purchasing an "Apple-flavored" beverage earns "Apple stock" ▲Purchasing a Starbucks refrigerated drink earns "Starbucks stock" ▲Purchasing products related to the "Soft" keyword earns "Microsoft stock" ▲Purchasing products related to the Alphabet ABC earns "Alphabet Class A stock." The stock amount is awarded randomly, ranging from a minimum of 1,000 KRW to a maximum of 1,000,000 KRW, and each person can participate up to two times.

First-time traders receive CU VIP benefits!

The "Stock Trading" event, held during the same period, targets users who have no stock trading history with Kakao Pay Securities from January 1 to July 29 of this year.

During the August event period, after completing the "Participate" process on the Kakao Pay app's securities tab event page and trading at least 80,000 KRW in either domestic or overseas stocks, users will receive a coupon to upgrade to Pocket CU membership VIP status. The VIP tier offers a higher point accumulation rate of 2% compared to the general rate of 0.5%, as well as various discount benefits.

Kakao Pay Securities stated, "We designed this event to provide overseas stock investment experiences through everyday consumption and to extend lifestyle benefits through stock trading," adding, "We plan to continue introducing events that make investing easy and enjoyable for everyone."

However, participation is restricted at certain CU locations where point accumulation is not available, such as rest stops, airports, resorts, parks, and special stores. Additionally, financial investment products linked to this event may result in principal loss due to market volatility, so caution is advised when investing.
