The media art piece "Sharing for Connection," produced by the Cultural Heritage Administration in collaboration with the Korea Heritage Agency and d'strict, has achieved a remarkable feat by winning the main prize in the Brand & Communication Design category at the Red Dot Design Award 2025.
This is one of the world's top three design awards. The Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Germany selects the winners by comprehensively evaluating creativity, the effectiveness of message delivery, and the overall design quality. This year’s award ceremony will be held on November 7 at the Konzerthaus Berlin gala event in Germany.
"Sharing for Connection" is a media art piece that expresses the unique beauty and significance of Korea’s national heritage. Based on the philosophy of "connection" that links the past, present, and future, the work enables various generations to share the value of national heritage. It has been praised for its meaningful theme, visual art, sound, and digital technology, each harmoniously integrated to achieve outstanding aesthetics and communicative power.
This work has already received an enthusiastic response both domestically and internationally. Through special exhibitions of national heritage media art held in Gangneung and Jeju in Korea, as well as in Las Vegas, USA, approximately 470,000 people have viewed the piece. An official from the Cultural Heritage Administration stated, "Visitors will also be able to see the work at the 'Heritage: The Future Fantasy' exhibition, which will be held from August 24 to September 17 at Exhibition Hall 2 of the Dongdaemun Design Plaza Museum in Seoul."
