Used to Provide Essential Daily Necessities to Flood-Affected Areas
On August 4, the floor leadership of the People Power Party in the South Gyeongsang Provincial Council donated the entire amount of the government’s livelihood recovery consumption coupons to the Gyeongnam Community Chest of Korea.
This donation was initiated voluntarily with the sincere intention of supporting disaster recovery efforts in the South Gyeongsang region, including Sancheong-gun and Hapcheon-gun, which recently suffered significant damage from heavy rainfall, as well as providing daily necessities to residents who have fallen into hardship.
As climate change leads to increasingly severe disaster damage, the sense of loss among residents who have not been designated as special disaster areas is growing. In order to instill the will to overcome these difficulties together, the group decided to contribute even a small amount of help.
Jeong Ssanghak, floor leader of the People Power Party, stated, "We have come together to share in the pain of residents devastated by unexpected disasters and to overcome these difficult times together. I am deeply gratified that People Power Party provincial council members are taking the lead in providing practical daily necessities to the affected areas."
