Young People Drawn to the Appeal of the Horse Racing and Leisure Industry
"Quick to Adapt On-Site and Strong Sense of Belonging"
Korea Racing Authority Let's Run Park Busan Gyeongnam (headed by Um Youngseok) announced on August 4 that eight new employees who joined in March have reached their 100th day at the company and are bringing new energy to the organization.
These new employees joined through a blind recruitment process and, despite the high turnover trend in society, have shown a strong sense of belonging and quickly adapted to the organization. The main reasons they chose Korea Racing Authority were the 'professionalism of the horse racing industry' and the unique aspect of being a 'public-interest complex leisure space'.
Nam Yaein, who joined in the sales and marketing division, said, "After seeing the vibrant atmosphere at Let's Run Park, I was determined to provide citizens with a special weekend experience." Kim Jiyeong, who joined in the landscaping division, explained, "The appeal was being able to utilize my landscaping expertise in a space that combines a racetrack and a park."
The new employees are gaining practical experience at Let's Run Park Busan Gyeongnam, the largest horse-themed park in Korea, and are also participating in preparations for the opening of Yeongcheon Racetrack, which is considered a future growth engine. Seo Jimin, in charge of park revitalization, said, "I feel rewarded when I see people enjoying themselves as I take on the challenge of planning and managing events." Kim Jongyun from the Yeongcheon Operations Preparation Department said, "I take great pride in being able to grow together with the launch of the racetrack park from its inception."
Korea Racing Authority is supporting the stable adaptation of new employees through mentoring programs and job competency training. Lim Taeyun from the starting division and Choi Jeongyun from the finance division shared their aspirations, saying, "We will build our expertise to fairly operate legal horse racing and lead the horse industry in harmony with the local community."
Their job preparation process also stands out. Jeong Sojin studied for eight hours a day to prepare for the written exam and said that understanding the unique laws, such as the Korea Racing Authority Act, helped during the interview. Lee Daegwon tried to understand the management support role by collecting and reviewing press releases.
Um Youngseok, the head of the branch, said, "We will spare no effort to support the new employees who have boldly taken on a new industry so they can grow into key talents leading the future of the organization," and added, "Their passion for diving into an unfamiliar region and industry beyond just their first job will become a driving force for the growth of Korea Racing Authority."
New employees at Korea Racing Authority Busan Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters are cheering with enthusiasm.
