Muju County Recruiting 126 Participants for Public Work Program

54 Fields Including Environmental Maintenance and Facility Management

Jeonbuk Muju County is recruiting 126 participants for the fourth phase of its public work program for vulnerable job seekers in the region until August 20.

According to the county on August 4, the fourth phase of the public work program will run from October 1 to December 31, with participants working in 54 fields such as environmental maintenance and cleaning, terminal environment cleaning, and facility management.

Eligible applicants are unemployed Muju residents aged between 18 (born on or before August 4, 2007) and 74 (born on or after August 5, 1950), whose household income is at or below 70% of the median income, and whose total family assets registered at their resident address are less than 400 million won.

Applications can be submitted at the industrial team of the township or town administrative welfare center corresponding to the applicant's address. However, recipients of livelihood benefits under the National Basic Living Security Act, recipients of unemployment benefits, those who have participated in direct employment programs (such as community projects or senior jobs) for two consecutive terms or overlapping periods, households with two applicants from the same household, and those who withdrew from the previous phase are not eligible to participate.

The wage for participants in the fourth phase of the public work program is 10,030 won per hour. Weekly and annual leave allowances, as well as a separate transportation (snack) allowance of 5,000 won, will also be provided.

Kim Seongok, head of the Population Vitality Division of Muju County, stated, "This year, the county has invested a total of 1,189 million won in the public work program to focus on stabilizing the livelihoods of vulnerable job seekers and providing temporary jobs. Up to the third phase, 320 people have worked in 149 project areas such as environmental maintenance and facility management."
