Buan-gun Conducts Drug and Medication Misuse Prevention Education for Children

North Jeolla Province's Buan-gun announced on August 4 that it recently conducted an education session on the prevention of drug and medication misuse and abuse for 20 children under the age of 12 at the Buan-gun Family Center.

This session was led by instructor Lim Youngsook from the Jeonbuk branch of the Korea Association Against Drug Abuse. The program covered the negative effects of drug addiction and methods to distinguish between narcotic poppies and ornamental poppies, utilizing animated videos and other visual materials.
With the recent rise in drug-related crimes, the importance of establishing proper values and providing education to prevent drug and medication misuse and abuse is being strongly emphasized.
An official from the Buan-gun Public Health Center stated, "Education and promotion to prevent drug misuse and abuse among children and adolescents are the first steps in preventing drug addiction," and added, "Through this session, we will do our best to prevent drug misuse and abuse in Buan-gun."
