The concert, held on August 2, was made even more meaningful as all performers participated through 100% talent donation.
The stage began with pansori by Yoon Jeongsuk, a recognized holder of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage Gyeong-Seodo Seonsori Santaryeong, followed by performances and music by Beomjin Sunim, known as a master of Buddhist ritual chanting (Beompae), fusion pianist Yoon Kanguk, saw player Jin Hyogeun, singer Eun Bora, and the band Yang Gukshin.
Sopyeongwon offered rice cakes, fruit, and beverages to the performers, devotees, and local residents who attended the temple music concert.
In her welcoming remarks, Do Hye Sunim promised to further develop the temple music concert as a unique cultural event of Sopyeongwon that can be enjoyed by the local community.
Kim Hasu, the governor of Cheongdo-gun, who attended the pre-event, said, "I sincerely thank you for taking the lead in the development of culture and the arts in Cheongdo without requesting any budget support from the county. Especially, as the heat continues, it is difficult for elderly residents in rural areas to even go to town to buy necessities, so I am very grateful for the variety of sights and cultural experiences provided for them."
