Dong-A University and Busan to Open 'SW Jisan-Hak Summer Festival' on the 20th

A Platform for Fostering AI and Software Convergence Talent
and Sharing Achievements of Industry-Academia-Local Government Collaboration

Dong-A University (President Lee Haewoo) announced on August 4 that its Software Innovation Center, in collaboration with Busan Metropolitan City, will host the "2025 SW Jisan-Hak Summer Festival" for three days from August 20 to 22 at the BEXCO Convention Hall in Busan.

This festival aims to promote the nationwide expansion of the "Jisan-Hak (Industry-Academia-Local Government Collaboration) Model," which fosters cooperation among the regional software industry, academia, and public institutions, and to establish a sustainable system for cultivating convergent talent. Now in its second year, the event is part of the "Software-Centered University Project" supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute of Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP).

There are four main programs. The "2025 2nd National University Software Performance Sharing Forum," which brings together IT major students from across the country, will feature presentations of AI and software-based capstone projects and industry-academia collaboration outcomes. Outstanding teams will receive a total of 5 million won in prize money. There will also be a special lecture on AWS Cloud (instructor Kim Byungjun) and a talk by media artist Song Hojun.

The "CODE MEDI" hackathon, which applies AI and software technologies to the medical field, is also drawing attention. Medical students and software convergence majors from across the country will form teams to propose solutions to real-world medical problems, with a total of 1.2 million won in prize money awarded to the top teams. The finals will be held over two days starting August 21.

In addition, the "AI·SW Teacher Academy," a specialized software training program for secondary school teachers, will feature a lecture by Professor Kim Kyungmin of Pusan National University on "Educational Innovation Using Generative AI." This is expected to provide teachers with an opportunity to learn how to use the latest AI educational tools.

The "2025 RESIDENT Education," a local government collaboration talent development model, will also take place. This program focuses on practical training, including Smart City Lab AI and Digital Twin platforms. It will begin with a lecture by Professor Ok Sooyeol of Dong-A University on "Core Technologies of Intelligent Digital Twin," followed by presentations on topics such as disaster prediction based on Agentic AI, knowledge structuring based on ontology, and visualization technologies based on CityGML.

The festival is jointly hosted by Busan Metropolitan City, the Ministry of Science and ICT, and IITP, and organized by the Dong-A University Software Innovation Center. Advance registration is required for the medical hackathon, teacher academy, and RESIDENT education, while on-site registration will be available for the "National University Software Performance Sharing Forum" on the day of the event.
