Jeonnam Province announced on August 4 that it has launched a month-long inspection of address information facilities as a proactive measure against the upcoming typhoon.

This inspection, which targets all cities and counties within Jeonnam Province, was organized by forming a joint inspection team between the provincial government and local city and county governments. The purpose is to prevent safety accidents such as the collapse or damage of address information facilities caused by typhoons.

As of the end of July, there are approximately 116,000 address information facilities within the province.

The main inspection items include: ▲ the safety of road name signs, such as cracks or corrosion in connecting parts; ▲ checking and addressing poor attachment of base number plates, and inspecting for damage or deformation in the post connections; ▲ and verifying the appropriateness of the address information displayed on the facilities.

In particular, for facilities such as road name signs that pose a direct risk to residents' safety in the event of a falling accident caused by strong winds, the province and local governments plan to maintain a continuous inspection system through October.

Kim Seungchae, Director of Land Management at Jeonnam Province, stated, "Address information facilities are not just for road name guidance; they are a crucial safety infrastructure that helps quickly identify locations in emergencies. Through this inspection, we aim to protect the daily safety of our residents, and we will continue to provide safe and convenient address information services through ongoing inspections and maintenance."
